Wolves have long been associated with Norse mythology and the Vikings. A wolf seen on the battlefield was deemed positive, thanks to the belief that it would guide their spirits to Valhalla should they die fighting. Odin’s two wolves, Geri and Freki are his personal bodyguards and companions. They are brave and extremely loyal to Odin and have been with him through many adventures. Many Viking warriors used the symbol of the wolf as a way to honor and embrace the positive traits wolves had. Wolves symbolize protection, wisdom, loyalty and bravery.
